Foot Pain

"How To Put An End To Foot Pain Without Waiting Forever For A Doctor's Appointment or Taking A Pile Of Pills"

Are you looking for a way to put an end to your Foot Pain without having surgery, take a handful of painkillers, OR waiting weeks or months for a Doctor’s appointment to be seen for less than 5 minutes?

When you experience Foot Pain, it’s so easy just to assume that the Foot pain is a minor problem and that it will magically go away eventually without you having to do anything about it. Sadly, and frustratingly, this is usually never the case. Or worse, you just assume that this is an age issue and that Foot pain is just something you have to deal with now.

If that sounds like what you are facing, know this: YOU ARE NOT ALONE. This is an all too common problem we hear every day. In fact, it might be THE most COMMON problem that we see here in our Physical Therapy clinics located in Carlisle, Harrisburg, and Mechanicsburg. And when it comes to facing life with Foot pain, this is what we often hear:

"Why is This Happening to me?"

or

"I've rested it and did everything the Doctor said, WHY AM I STILL SUFFERING?"

So many people think that when they experience Foot Pain, the pain will just go away, without doing a thing; they think that they will get out of bed and magically the pain will be gone and it was just a thought of the past, but then 4-6 months have passed, and there they are, still living with their Foot pain, and the worst part, usually, the pain is a more significant issue then it was when it started.

Sound Familiar?

Another thing we often see on a daily basis at Cardin & Miller Physical Therapy is that when people decide to go see their Doctor, they end up with a set of instructions to rest, a prescription for some pain killers, and are sent on their way to “see how things go.”

This advice usually lands them back in the Doctor’s office 6 weeks later in the same pain that they were in before. They are then given another script for MORE painkillers and given instructions for MORE rest. It is an endless cycle, and it explains why so many people are just suffering with their Foot pain.

Have you ever experienced something like this?

Why else would you keep dealing with your Foot pain longer then you need to? It’s super easy to get confused as to what the right thing to do is. So many people are telling you so many different things, and you end up not knowing which way is up. There are so many people willing to give their “helpful tips,” but not all of it is accurate or wise.

Perhaps you think your Foot pain is caused by doing something, like walking more than usual or wearing a new pair of shoes. But in reality, it is from years of not having proper support for your Foot in your shoes and having uneven hip alignment, causing your muscles to weaken in your Legs and Feet. Pain from additional walking or wearing new shoes is just an effect of that.

Foot pain and Foot orthotics can be VERY confusing, and as a result of that fact, many people accept that Foot pain is a way of life, that it’s normal and it’s just the way it is now.

Is that how you feel?

If You’re Currently Living With Foot Pain, Here Are A Few More Reasons Why It Could Be Lasting Longer Than It Should:

  • You had hoped it would magically just go away – and it didn’t.
  • You went in to see your Primary Care Physician who told you to rest and gave you painkillers to help with the pain – but the painkillers didn’t do anything to help what is actually wrong with your Foot, and as soon as they wore off, you were faced with the pain again.
  • You were told by someone you trusted that this was just a part of getting older, and you just accepted it.
  • You have tried Physical Therapy in the past, but nothing about it seemed to help.
  • You did some online research and found some exercises people recommended, but they didn’t do a thing, or worse… they increased your Foot pain.
  • You decided to try resting your Foot because it hurt so much, but that didn’t help at all.
  • You thought that maybe visiting a massage therapist would help, but while they were relaxing and felt nice, they didn’t do a thing to actually fix the problem for the long haul.

Does any of that sound like you? We would love to help you! Why don’t we set up a Free Phone Consultation with you? An expert Physical Therapist in one of our Carlisle, Harrisburg, or Mechanicsburg clinics can give you a call to help figure out what can be done to rid you of your foot pain and get you back to enjoying life. Don’t be discouraged. The fact that you’ve tried any, or all, of these things, is a good thing! It means now we know what doesn’t work and that brings us closer to figuring out what WILL work!

So What can I do to get rid Of My Foot Pain  Now?...

Here are 4 things that can help you:

  • First things first, you need to make the choice to get help. So often people just put off getting help for so long, thinking that their Foot pain will magically go away if they just wait it out. But then, 6 months later, they are faced with the fact that the pain has not gone away; in fact, it’s worse than it was before.
  • Next, you need to do the RIGHT exercises. One of the best things you can do to help relieve your Foot pain is to do the right series of exercises; these exercises are given to you by a Physical Therapist who has evaluated you and developed a program to fit your custom needs. These exercises will help allow you to move more freely, and they make sure that the problems don’t come back any time soon!
  • Getting your feet in the right pair of shoes for your specific Foot type is key to helping to get rid of your Foot pain! Talk to one of our expert Physical Therapists who knows the mechanics of how the Feet function and how to match the right shoe to your foot type.
