Brian has been practicing Physical Therapy since 1994. Most of his therapy career has been spent in Central Pennsylvania, with a 2 year hiatus in Central Ohio. His undergraduate schooling was done locally at Central Penn College, Slippery Rock University, and Penn State at Harrisburg. His professional training as a Physical Therapist was completed at the University of Findlay, in Findlay, Ohio. He received his pedorthic training at Temple University’s School of Podiatric Medicine.

The bulk of his therapy career has consisted of outpatient orthopedic care in the private practice setting. Brian has extensive experience working with clients with a variety of orthopedic ailments ranging from foot pain to jaw problems. His particular area of interest however, is working with clients with foot and lower extremity dysfunction. By combining his experience as a Physical Therapist and a Certified Pedorthist, he is able to provide a unique service to our clients.

Steve has been practicing Outpatient, Orthopedic Physical Therapy in the Central Pennsylvania region since 1994. His academic history includes undergraduate work at Central Pennsylvania College and Lock Haven University, graduate studies at the University of Findlay, and pedorthic certification from Temple University.

By combining his education and years of experience, Steve has been able to provide individual physical therapy and pedorthic services to his patients for over 15 years. Steve has been to more that 20 continuing education courses during that span with the focus being on orthopedics, pedorthic implementation, and foot/ankle injuries. He utilizes a combination of McKenzie, manual therapies, and functional exercise in the treatment of clients with all types orthopedic maladies.

Shannon joined Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy in August of 2015. She has been practicing physical therapy since 1998. She has worked in a variety of settings including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and for the last fourteen years in outpatient rehabilitation. A native of Central Pennsylvania, she has also practiced in New York, Georgia, and North Carolina. Shannon earned her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Misericordia University in Dallas, Pennsylvania in 1998.

Shannon specializes in treating orthopedic conditions and vestibular disorders. She has attended many continuing education courses; manual therapy, McKenzie method for neck and back pain, as well as vestibular rehabilitation. Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons at various sporting, school and scouting activities, as well as hiking, camping, and paddle boarding.

Peter joined the Cardin and Miller team in the spring of 2016. He graduated from The University of Scranton with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science in 2011, and received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Scranton in 2014. Peter has been working in an outpatient orthopedic therapy setting since the summer of 2014. He furthered his orthopedic training in 2015 by completing an APTA credentialed Orthopedic Residency program.

Peter enjoys treating all orthopedic conditions, and is currently looking to further his education by completing an Orthopedic and Manual based fellowship program. In his free time he enjoys playing ice hockey and spending time with family and friends.

Alex received his Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from Lebanon Valley College in 2014 and then earned his Doctoral of Physical Therapy from Lebanon Valley College in 2016. Throughout Physical Therapy school, Alex worked with collegiate athletes and helped develop injury-prevention programs for athletes with high injury risk.

Alex enjoys treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions while utilizing various hands-on manual therapy treatment techniques. Alex is looking to expand his knowledge and skills through continuing education courses focusing on orthopedic pathologies and specialized manual therapy techniques.

In his free time, Alex likes playing golf, hiking, camping, and spending time with his family. Alex also has a huge passion for cars.

Steven graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science in 2012. He then graduated from the University of Pittsburgh’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2017. Steven completed a yearlong internship in May 2017 at UPMC CRS Monroeville with a focus on manual therapy utilization. While at the University of Pittsburgh he completed a yearlong research project tracking outcomes of patients with knee pain based on treatment selection.

Steven enjoys treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions by applying manual therapy techniques, functional exercise prescription, and pain science education. He is looking to pursue advancements of his knowledge base and skill set by completing continuing education courses with concentrations in manual therapy, advanced exercise prescription, and pain science.

In his free time Steven enjoys weightlifting and hiking. He has completed a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in 2012 and has hiked the entire California section of the Pacific Crest Trail in the summer of 2017.

Kristina acquired her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology at Penn State University in 2013, and then went on to obtain her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in 2017. Over the course of her education, Kristina worked with patients with many different types of conditions in a variety of different settings.

Kristina is interested in treating a wide array conditions while utilizing evidence supported interventions and hands-on techniques. She is excited to continue expanding upon her skillset through continuing education courses focused on specialized functional movement assessment and manual therapy.

When out of the clinic, Kristina enjoys running, hiking, and relaxing with friends and family.

Alex received his Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management from Misericordia University in 2014. He graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Misericordia University in December 2017. He became part of the Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy family in January of 2018.

He enjoys treating all kinds of orthopedic conditions, particularly low back and shoulder. He plans on continuing his education by enrolling in courses that demonstrate a variety of orthopedic and manual techniques.

In his spare time he enjoys participating in various sports activities including, soccer, volleyball, golf and snowboarding. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Nate joined the Cardin and Miller team in April of 2012. Originally from Central PA, Nate traveled to Slippery Rock University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Rehabilitative Sciences. Nate has worked in the physical therapy field as a PT Technician since 2006 and also worked as an ATC with the Northern York School District from 2009 to 2011. Nate has attended numerous continuing education classes that include ImPACT & Concussion Management, Kinesiotaping, treatment of the injured runner, and barefoot running.

Amy began working with Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy in September of 2006. She began her career in the healthcare industry with a leading area orthopedic surgeon and physical therapy practice. That professional experience then paved the way for positions as a surgical pre- and post-operative technician, an ABO certified optician, and a front desk and billing specialist for a leading area ophthalmology practice. Amy has built upon the skills she has received from her previous positions and continued education to provide exceptional knowledge and direction to the staff and patients of Cardin & Miller Physical Therapy.

Sandra is credentialed in Pedorthics through the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics and holds specialty certifications as a Therapeutic Shoe fitter (CFts) and Certified master compression fitter. Sandra received her Pedorthic training at the International School of Pedorthics. She also has a Certificate of completion for Orthotic Fitting from Ossur Academy. She has training in Advanced applications of medical compression which includes venous disease and lymphedema management class 1,2 and 3.

Sandra relocated from the Carolinas to Pennsylvania where she worked as a pedorthic Clinician for an Orthotic and Prosthetic group. Her interest is in the pedorthic management of chronic foot complications associated with diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis (charcot, ulcerations, neuropathy).

Sandra has provided presentations, lectures and foot clinics with topics of diabetic foot complications, care and appropriate footwear for problem feet. She is a member in Good Standing with the Pedorthic Footwear Association, and the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association.

Sherri began working at CMPT in June 2016. She attended YTI in Mechanicsbug for Medical Billing and Coding. Previous to her employment at Cardin and Miller Physical therapy, she worked for a Cancer Center billing department in Gettysburg PA. Her education and experience working in the medical billing field, since graduation, have given her knowledge of the insurance industry billing and the coordination of benefits.

She ran her 5k in 2017 and enjoys spending time outside with her husband and her dogs.

Nicole joined Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy in October 2016. The customer service experience she brings with her makes her a valuable part of the CMPT team. Her job as the DME Coordinator, for all three office locations, is vital to ensuring product is delivered in a timely and efficient manner. During her employment as the DME Coordinator she participates in continuing education courses, recently completing her course in “Getting Paid in the Orthotics and Prosthetics Industry”. In her free time she puts her skills as a licensed cosmetologist to good use and enjoys spending time being outdoors. She is also a team member of the Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy sponsored #20 358 Sprint car.

Brian joined the staff of Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy in 2017. He is a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology Movement. He has previously worked at Elite Athletic Performance and has been teaching Pilates for the past 8 years.

Brian enjoys being active and spending time outdoors.

Janet Monismith has enjoyed the benefits of a military family and moving around while ultimately settling in Pennsylvania. She recently joined Cardin & Miller PT in October 2017 to assist in Marketing and Client Referrals. Janet has a varied work background ranging from Auditor to Pastry Chef. She has worked in both private and public sectors.

Janet graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor of Science in Business and a minor in Economics.

While not working, Janet enjoys all things food-related, yoga, outdoor activities and reading. Her favorite pastime is attending musicals with son Michael.

Molly attended college at SUNY Geneseo College in upstate New York. She furthered her studies at Penn State main campus. After college, Molly taught preschool at the Dickinson College Children’s Center. She has successfully transitioned from a job in childcare to a career in healthcare. Molly joined Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy in 2018. Her pleasant personality and attention to detail has made her a valuable addition to the Cardin and Miller Physical Team.

In her free time, Molly enjoys spending time with her family, reading and being outdoors.

Shawn joined the staff at Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy in August 2016.

He received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at Slippery Rock University in 2012 and then continued on to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Slippery Rock University in 2015. While at Slippery Rock, Shawn was able to perform clinical rotations in acute care, wound care, and outpatient facilities.

Shawn enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions. He recently completed an orthopedic residency program at St. Francis University and will be sitting for the exam this February. While at St. Francis, he worked with a variety of division one athletes, community members, and gained useful experience working with concussed athletes under the St. Francis concussion protocol. Shawn enjoys hiking, jogging, watching football, and spending time with family and friends in his spare time.

Bryanna Curtis, PTA, joined the Cardin and Miller team October 2017. She completed the PTA program at Central Penn College July 2017 and plans on furthering her education in the health sciences. She is a motivated, responsible, team player with solid interpersonal skills and a strong drive to succeed. She has always been an athlete which was the driving force for her passion in health and wellness. She found that helping people achieve their physical and psychological goals was the best way that she could feel a sense of fulfillment in her everyday life.

Miranda graduated from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia with her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy in 2006. While at USciences, she played softball her four undergrad years, participated in Physical Therapy research regarding exercise for community-dwelling elders during her professional years, and worked on her PT skills at the PT program-run pro bono clinic. Once practicing a few years in outpatient orthopedics, she went back and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2010 from Temple University. As part of her doctorate work she had a collaborative-effort research paper published.

Miranda’s experience is in treating orthopedics with a focus on manual therapy treatment. Miranda is interested in treating the athletic population with injury rehabilitation and prevention and sports performance. She has taken multiple continuing education courses regarding the athletic population and has worked with some local sports organizations as a consultant.

Mariano graduated from Central Penn College in 2016 with an associate’s degree in Health Science applied in Physical Therapy Assistant. At the beginning of this year, he also completed his Pedorthic certification at the Academy of Pedorthic Science in Atlanta GA. Upon his graduation with his PTA degree, Mariano returned to his native Mexico to do volunteer work in several small towns. During that time, he had the opportunity to treat a variety of patients (including: children, athletes, older adults) and to educate people about physical therapy and its uses and benefits. After completing his volunteering, Mariano joined the Cardin & Miller team in March of 2017.

Mariano is fluent in Spanish and English and his areas of interest are orthopedic conditions and vestibular disorders. He is also certified in Kinesiotaping and has attended multiple seminars regarding conservative management of Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Mariano enjoys any type of outdoor activities such as hiking, running, and kayaking. He also likes to play volleyball and travel.
