Hip Pain

"How To Put An End To Hip Pain Without Waiting Forever For A Doctor’s Appointment, Taking a Pile of Pills, Getting Painful Shots, Or Having Dangerous Surgery."

Hip Pain

If you’re suffering with Hip Pain, stiffness, or achiness – it’s easy to think that it’s really nothing, and it will magically go away on its own. Or, you may think that you just slept on it wrong last night, or that everyone your age has Hip aches and pain.

You may think there’s no real reason why the pain is happening, except that it doesn’t seem to be getting any better.

If Hip pain is something that is happening to you, know this: YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We hear about Hip pain ALL. THE. TIME! As a matter of fact, we see and help people with Hip pain everyday in our clinic locations in Carlisle, Harrisburg, and Mechanicsburg.

When it comes to dealing with the issue of Hip pain, just about everyone wants to know:

"Why is This Happening to me?"

or

"Why Am I STILL Dealing With This Hip Pain After Having It For Months?"

A lot of people with Hip pain think that it will magically go away on its own.

They think that they will wake up in the morning and it will be like the Hip pain never happened! However, in reality, there they are, 4-6 months later still dealing with the same Hip pain – and most of the time the pain is worse than it was when it started.

Does this sound familiar?

Something else we see in our clinics is that someone will visit their Doctor’s office, the Doctor will then suggest to rest it for a while, write a prescription for painkillers and instruct them to “come back if it’s not better in 6 weeks.” Fast forward 6 weeks, and they are back in the Doctor’s office, usually with increased Hip pain.

Has This Happened to You?

Why does Hip pain last longer than it needs to?

It’s easy to get confused because there’s always someone who has done one thing or another, and they are happy to offer different suggestions to help your Hip pain go away.

Maybe you think your Hip pain was caused by sitting in the wrong position for too long, or you slept on the wrong side last night – but in reality, it’s caused by year after year of poor posture, poor body mechanics, poor foot alignment, old injuries or over use that has resulted in the muscles in your Hip becoming weak. The pain from sleeping on it wrong or sitting too long are just an EFFECT of that.

If you’re not a Hip pain expert, it can be difficult to navigate and can often get confusing. Not to mention, sometimes hip pain can be referred from the back and vice versa. That’s the reason so many people just accept their Hip pain as a way of life, like it’s reasonable to be in pain, and it’s just the way it is.

Is that how you feel?

If You're Currently Living With Hip Pain, Here Are Some More Reasons Why It Could Be Lasting Longer Than It Needs To:

  • The treatments you have tried are addressing the symptoms but not fixing the real reason why the Hip pain started in the first place.
  • When you went to see your Doctor, they recommended rest, wrote you a prescription for painkillers, and gave you some generic exercises to try, and when the pills wore off, you were back to having the Hip pain.
  • Someone you trust told you this was just a way of life, and that everyone your age starts having Hip pain – and you believed them.
  • You’ve been to Physical Therapy clinics in the past, but they didn’t seem to help you.
  • You’ve searched the internet for different stretches, but they didn’t do anything and some even made your Hip pain worse.
  • You decided it was a good idea to just ‘rest’ your Hip, but all it did was leave you more stiff and more sore than before
  • You got a couple of massages in the hopes that they would “work out” whatever the issue in your Hip was – and while they were relaxing, they did nothing to help long term.

What can I do to get rid Of My Hip Pain Quickly?...

Here are 4 things you CAN do:

  • First you need to make the right decision about getting help. There are so many people who put off getting help for so long because they just think it will spontaneously get better on its own. Then, they end up 6 months down the road still in pain, and nothing has changed, with the exception that maybe the pain is worse.
  • Do the Right Exercises – One the most helpful things you can do to help get rid of your Hip pain is doing the CORRECT exercises. These exercises are given to you by an expert Physical Therapist who has assessed your Hip. The proper exercises will allow you to move freely and reduce the pain quickly! They will also make sure that the issues don’t come back anytime soon! (They will also not cause any aggravation to your Hip like the wrong exercises can do!)
  • Avoid sitting for long periods of time – Do you ever struggle to get up after sitting for a long time, sitting at your desk, or laying on the couch resting? That’s because the worst thing you can do for your Hip pain is rest, or sit for a long time! Resting for too long, or sitting for extended periods of time causes your Hip to get stiff and tight. Something else that would be helpful, along with hands-on treatments, would be to receive instruction on strengthening exercises that help improve your posture.
  • Get hands-on Physical Therapy treatments – Physical Therapy has been proven to help people with Hip pain. As a matter of fact, here at Cardin & Miller Physical Therapy, Hip pain is one of the more common injuries we treat. If your Hip pain is affecting your ability to do your job, keeping you from being active, or gets in the way of spending time with your loved ones – Physical Therapy can help get you back to do doing what you need, want, and love to do, QUICKLY!

  • We can help make sure the root cause of your problem is addressed and resolved, and we will give you a set of exercises that are perfectly customized to you and your Hip issue which will help speed up your recovery.

  • We can help prevent the need for painful injections or the risk of dangerous surgery.
  • We can help keep you out of your Doctor’s waiting room, which will save you time and money in the long run, since you won’t have to wait weeks or months to get your initial appointment and you won’t have to miss work, while sitting and waiting for the Doctor to see you (usually, past your appointment time.)
  • We can help get you back to the things you need, want, and love to do with your friends and family that you hadn’t been able to do because of your Hip pain getting in the way.
  • We can give you the help you need to finally sleep through the night without tossing and turning trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in.
  • We can help you stay seated longer and walk farther than a couple of minutes without having the feeling of weakness or pain in your Hips and Legs.

Basically, we can get you back to living life to the fullest without fear of Hip pain looming over everything you do.
